Tree Decorating

This year we actually put our Christmas tree up with enough time to enjoy it! Last year we put it up a week before Christmas and this year we put it up the first weekend in December. On the positive side, we were able to enjoy the wonderful pine smell for the entire month of December. The downside was that the tree pretty much died before Christmas came. As is becoming tradition, Ed and I wrap the lights together and then Ed and the girls put the ornaments on the tree while I take pictures. This year, we gave Hannah a bigger pile of ornaments to put on the tree. Ironically we had a one-foot square spot with 15 ornaments. We tried to explain she needed to move them around a little bit, but that only resulted in 14 ornaments in the area and one on the other side of the tree. Oh well, she was proud of it and that is all that matters. Lastly, Hannah was the lucky one to put the angel on the tree. (I was the unlucky one who had to balance her on one hand so she could reach the top, all the while holding her back with enough strength that she didn't topple into the tree.)
Elayna (just new to crawling) was a pain to keep out of the tree. Any ornament within reach was fair game! Not really sure how many pine needles she actually ate.

Bake Day 2009

Well, I am only a couple of months behind. My camera is currently busted and I have been horrible about getting the pictures off of it. This was our December "Bake Day". This year it was at mom's house. We made several trays of fudge, a couple dozen loaves of bread, six dozen chocolate cookies, three batches of peanut brittle, divinity, and of course, sugar cookies. It is Hannah and daddy's job to make the sugar cookies for the holidays. While all of us were baking, my dad took car of Elayna. After crawling around the living room over and over again, she quickly feel asleep in the sunbeam and took a nice long nap. By the end of the day, I wished I had napped with her.
