Settling In

Well we are adjusting to home life fairly well. Elayna has taken to night sleeping much quicker than Hannah did. Ed and I can both get some sleep at the same time. With Hannah we seemed to be on shifts for the first month. Yesterday Elayna started opening her eyes more frequently, at least long enough to catch a couple of cute pictures.
At lunch time we gave Elayna her first home bath. She seemed to like it for the first two minutes, but then quickly turned cranky!
Here she is in her cute little ducky towel passed down from her sister. Many of her outfits, blankets and towels were once "big sisters". I guess that is the benefit of having two girls.
After she was dressed she was much happier. This is actually a premie outfit. We had to go buy a couple since all the 0-3 mo clothing looked like sleeping bags on her.
Once Elayna was all ready, we started working on Hannah. She loves to help hold her. (Sometimes a little too much!)
The rest of the day was spent in the backyard. As Hannah napped, Ed, Elayna and I spent a couple of hours cleaning out the backyard from Holly's path of destruction. At least Hannah can go outside and play without worrying about a mess from Holly.
Hannah is getting so bold on the equipment. Ed and I both thought that she was going to smack her head pretty hard. She did on many occasions, but got up and continued on as if nothing happened.
Here Ed is trying to show her who is boss, but Hannah's grip is quite strong for a 2 yr old. It took a couple of minutes to pry her free from the bars.
Once the swingset got old, Hannah started bringing out her toys. She enjoyed the scooter on the patio until she realized that it doesn't run as smoothly on the grass. We are hoping to work with her on peddling this summer. She seems to understand that both feet need to move, but she doesn't have the alternating pattern working yet.

Happy Easter

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Saturday Ed, Hannah and I boiled some eggs to dye for Easter. Hannah loves to dye Easter eggs, eventhough she absolutely hates eggs. For breakfast we always ask her if she wants eggs and she ALWAYS replies back "I don't like eggs!" That's why I thought it was cute that she was kissing this egg. We only boiled six eggs. Between the three of us, we didn't think there was a reason to boil any more. She picked out which egg went into the cups first and what color Ed and I were going to get.
She enjoyed seeing that the white egg going in came out yellow. Her expressions are priceless. Unfortunately, later that evening Hannah came down with the flu and had an up and down night sleeping. When we finally woke up the next morning, she was tired and still feeling sick. How hard is it to tell a child they can't enjoy the Easter candy. All she could do was look at it. Although, eventually I caved in and let her have a couple of jelly beans.
After looking in our basket, we went into the bathroom and did our hair for church. With her new haircut, her hair looked absolutely gorgeous. Of course, I am a biased mom! Here she is looking at her candy. She has started smiling with her bottom jaw sticking out. Not so sure where she is getting that from.
Lastly, to round out the day, we ended up at Aunt Amy's house for my birthday/Easter dinner. My birthday has fallen on Easter 2-3 times before. We had a wonderful steak dinner followed by a delicious Cold Stone cake batter-red velvet-ice cream cake!!! All-in-all it was quite a busy day, but it was very enjoyable.

First Haircut

Hannah had her first haircut the other day. She was so excited to sit in the "big chair". Of course, I was sad to see her hair getting chopped off. I always wanted to have a little girl so I could do her hair. However, it was getting way to long and with summer fast approaching, we decided to cut it a little. She sat there so patiently. The hair dresser said she was very well behaved. It is amazing how calm she can be when someone else is doing her hair. I guess all the practice she gets with me in the mornings helped her to sit still.All-in-all we cut about five inches off. It barely sits on her shoulders. She looks so adorable with the new do. It is just long enough that I can still fit it all into a pony tail. That has always been a stipulation with my hair cuts. Now the back of her hair is as long as her bangs that we grew out.

Day at the Park

Shower Fun

The baby shower was so much fun!!! I was excited to see friends and family that I haven't seen in such a long time.
Here is Great Aunty Katie and Hannah eating some snacks before dinner. It's almost been a year since I had seen Katie. It was great fun having her there.
Here is Vanessa, Sara, and me playing guess what the baby ate game. It is always enjoyable to put your nose in a diaper and sniff what is in it!
I guess it is more enjoyable than some, as Jaime can attest to.
For our last game, we had to put a garbage sack over our bodies and feed our partner "baby food". (It was really pudding.) One person was behind the other using their arms to feed you. They couldn't look either.
As always, some people were better at the game than others. As you can tell Jaime fed Amy quite well while Amy kept missing Jaime's mouth.
Finally, we had some cake. It was a beautiful cake. Of course after snacking all evening, I couldn't hardly eat any.
Some of us still had an appetite though, as Rheya scarfs hers down! What a cutie!
As the night wound down and everyone had gone home, Hannah started dancing with balloons. At one point she put the balloon between her legs and rode it around the house like it was a horsey. Of course this picture doesn't do her justice. The whole scene was hilarious, but I didn't think to take a video of it.
Again, I want to thank all who came and are supporting us throughout this pregnancy. Hopefully within the week we will have a new addition to our small little family.

Before Shower

Yesterday Amy gave me a very nice baby shower. Here we are waiting to leave.
Hannah was so excited to have her hair curled and put into a dress. Unfortunately she has grown drastically in the last three months and I didn't have any size 4T dresses. Luckily I was given a couple from some girls at my school. Funny thing is that the girl is in prekindergarten and hannah is only 2. In either case, she looks beautiful.
